7 Fall Senate Survey 2010 (900 undergrad respondents; 20% of population; results as of 12/9/2010 2:39 am) 1.Has you or your family had additional trouble paying for the cost of attendance? 2.Do you feel the economy has kept you on-campus more than normal? (Less willing to eat off campus, shop, recreate, etc…) 3.Has a parent or someone who claims you as a financial dependent been laid off in the past two years? 4.Do you currently hold a job either at RPI or elsewhere? 8 Student Handbook Issues Senate collaborated extensively with DOSO through meetings and student forums. New Wording: “An application otherwise consistent with Rensselaer policies but submitted less than seven (7) days in advance will be considered by the Dean of Students if he/she can reasonably assure student safety and safeguard the interests of all members of the Rensselaer community.”

9 Student Handbook Issues (2) Spring 2011 Senate will approach new off-campus issues with DOSO and the Institute and consider Handbook changes. Any proposed changes should remain collaborative and end with general student consent.

11 Student Panel Discussion Purpose: To create an open dialogue between Trustees and students Structure: Five guests that represent a diverse cross-cut of campus will answer questions from the committee about student life. We prepared a few questions to initiate the discussion, but first, some introductions of our guests… BOT members are encouraged to interject with questions at any time!
