Statistics
2
Get into groups of three or four people. The project will consist of a survey and then statistical analysis of the data followed by comprehension.
3
-GPA vs bench press weight -Girls who prefer DLS or CHS/Boys who prefer DLS or CHS - Tuxedo vs Oreo - GPA vs # of sports played - GPA vs time spent on computer activities
4
At minimum your sample size must be 30. If you are taking a survey that is looking a multiple populations, each populations must have a sample size of at least 30. (male vs female) Once you have gathered the data you must run a minimum of two types of statistical analysis. Examples: -Confidence intervals -Hypotheses test (mean or proportions/1 sample or 2 samples), P-Value/traditional -Probability
5
Students are also required to construct two different types of visual representations of the data obtained. Example: Ojive, bar graph, pie graph, histogram (probability), line graph, box plot, or any other type of visual aid that assist in illustrating your data.
6
Each group is required to present the findings of their survey to the class. You can use PowerPoint, make a display board, or even hand out a packet that contains all necessary data. Project is worth 50 points.
