Last year, the board paid for all of the free/reduced lunch student tests ($12 per test) and $42 per test for all other students. Students only paid $40 per exam. This year, I would propose that money be used to reimburse only the students that pass the test. When their own money is involved, students are more invested in the outcome. Some school systems have partnered with car dealerships to provide chances to win a new car for each exam passed. One school’s pass rate went from 260 exams passed to over 1,000. Mr. Dobbs’ scores had the biggest % increase last year. He says that www.learnerator.com was a reason for the increase. A school site license is $3,000 for up to 400 students where they can utilize the study materials for up to 5 AP exams each. www.learnerator.com
