The Palace Museum The Forbidden City in Beijing was the home of the emperors of China for hundreds of years. Today, it is one of the world’s most important museums. It was built from 1460 to 1420 in the Ming Dynasty and runs one kilometer from north to south,and three quarters of a kilometer from east to west.

The walls of the Forbidden City are about 10 meters high. The roofs are yellow and the buildings and walls are red,so when you see them against a blue sky,it’s a very beautiful sight. About 8,000,000 people from all over the world visit it every year. It’s the biggest ancient palace in the world, and it has been a UNESCO World Heritage since 1987. It has a website and you can take a sightseeing tour of the treasure.
