A Common Misunderstanding The Naturalistic Fallacy- A flaw in logic where Descriptive Statements (“Is” statements) are assumed to be Normative Statements (“Ought” statements). Ill. “Dad, everybody is going to the dance, therefore; I ought to be permitted to attend the dance…”

The Naturalistic Fallacy- (cont.) Ill. There are many world religions, therefore there ought to be many and all are valid. Ill. Officer everyone was speeding, therefore; I ought to be able to speed w/o getting a ticket.

The Naturalistic Fallacy- (cont.)
