Web 1.0 vs. 2.0 Web 1.0 Sites are static – Provide information, but never change Sites are not interactive – Visitors cannot add, alter, or contribute to the site Applications are proprietary – Philosophy of Web 1.0 is that users can’t see how applications on the site work Web 2.0 Sites are dynamic – Account owners can update (MySpace, Facebook) Sites are interactive – Anyone can visit and alter, add o contribute (Wikis, blogs) Open source program – The source code for the application or program is available for free
