1. (See page 3) For licensing regulations, define what is meant by Infant: 6 weeks – 18 months Toddler: 18 months – 36 months Preschooler: 36 months-school age

2. Staffing: (Page 9) What is the staff-child ratio for infants? 1-4 For toddlers? 1-6 For 3 year olds? 1-10

3. Discipline: (see page 9) What types of discipline cannot be used? Isolation, physical endangerment (hitting, spanking pinching…ect)

4. Infant Care: (page 10) Staff will meet the needs of infants by: A. Talking to, holding and playing B. Exploration outside of the crib C. Each crib contains 1 infant toy D. Immediately investigating cries of infants E. Each staff member is responsible for an infant

5. What must be followed when bottle feeding? (See page 11) A written statement must be signed and dated by the parent of the child’s feeding schedule. Infants up to 6 months must be held during feedings. Bottles can’t be propped up and must be removed while babies are sleeping.

6. Describe diaper practices. (See page 11) A. Change diaper when needed B. Use individual wash cloths, towels or disposable wipes C. Sanitize surface of changing area

11. What guidelines will be followed for giving/applying medicines (see page 68) A. Use written instructions B. Maintain records by using a medication log C. Prior permission from parents D. Original container – clearly labeled

12. What are the regulations related to tobacco, alcohol and controlled substances? (see page 40) A. Staff shall not smoke in the presence of children B. Alcohol or controlled substance must not be consumed on premises during hours of operation

13. Describe the space/child required for licensing. (see page 70) Each space shall have at least 35 sq. feet of indoor activity space for each child. What cannot be apart of this space? Bathrooms, kitchens, isolation rooms, office, passage ways, storage or space occupied by cribs or built cabinets

14. What emergency number must be posted? (see page 72) Fire, police, poison control, hospital and 911 15. Describe fire and tornado drill requirements. (see page 73) Written education plan must be posted in a visible spot and practiced on a quarterly basis. At least one of those practices must be during nap time.

16. When transporting children what are the 5 regulations that must be followed? A. Safety restraints for each child B. Passenger seating, as designated by vehicle manufacturer C. Number of children should not exceed the seating capacity D. All doors locked while vehicle is moving E. Parents signed permissions must be kept on file
