10 EERE Social Media Quick and Dirty Tips – Facebook 1) Change your lens from content creator to content consumer What would you want to see on your newsfeed? How would you like to see it written? What would make you engage? Market for the year you’re in. The impact needs to be apparent in the first sentence or image: Ask yourself why should people care? How does it improve lives? 2) Video killed the internet star Facebook’s algorithm gives a big boost to native video uploads. What videos can your team leverage? Keep them short. 3) Reactions = Applause, Shares = Votes If you’re not aiming for virality, you’re wasting time Are you enhancing the image or brand of EERE? Focus on that before aiming to go viral Ask yourself--and answer honestly--would I share w/ friends, family?

11 EERE Social Media Quick and Dirty Tips – LinkedIn 1) Think like a Job-Seeker What makes your office a great place to work? 2) LinkedIn is not for marketing Why do you log on to LinkedIn? 19 PDF Requirements We recently updated the PDF Standards page on Communication Standards. The new page is a step-by-step process that helps you ensure your PDFs meet all of EERE’s standards! If you’ve optimized PDFs before, two steps are new: 1.Setting the language. This is under “File > Properties,” under the “Advanced” tab. Set the PDF’s language to English! 2.Setting the file to display the title of the document (not the file name) at the top of the document. In “File > Properties,” go down to the “Show” drop-down menu and select “Document Title.”
