I. Hitler Invades the Soviet Union C. Between November 1942 and February of 1943, the Soviet Union defeats Germany at The Battle of Stalingrad. Now the Germans will be slowly pushed out of the Soviet Union.

II. Allies Move Towards Victory A. Stalin wants the British and the Americans to attack Germany from the west. Why?

II. Allies Move Towards Victory B. D-Day: On June 6, 1944, the Allies, under the command of American general Dwight D. Eisenhower invade Normandy in France.

II. Allies Move Towards Victory C. D-Day is a success. By August 1944, the Allies have retaken France. Now they can push towards Germany from the west, while the Soviets invade Germany from the east.
