(D) Shylock asks the law to be applied. What is next?

(F) Bassanio offers to pay 6000 ducats but Shylock does not accept. (B) Portia awards Shylock to cut the pound of flesh. (E) Portia cautions Shylock that if a drop of blood is shed, he breaks the law and all his property will be confiscated. (J) Shylock offers to take the money from Bassanio and let Antonio go. What is next?

(G) Portia insists that Shylock take the pound of flesh as agreed in the bond. (L) Shylock concedes defeat. (M) Portia states that Shylock has broken a law that is punishable by confiscation of wealth and possibly death. (C) Antonio suggests that Shylock should become a Christian. Main Elements of a News Article Headline The headline is the title of the news article. The headline should be short, does not include a lot of detail, and should catch the readers’ attentions. Byline This line tells who is writing the article. It may also include the address of the author and the publication or news source for which he or she writes. ex) by Irene McShane May 10, 2012 1:42 pm Lead Paragraph The lead paragraph is found at the beginning of the article. The lead briefly answers the questions “who”, “what”, “when”, “why”, “where”, and “how.” The ‘skeleton’ of the story can be found here. Supporting Paragraphs They develop the ideas introduced by the lead.
