3 ABOUT THE CONFERENCE WAA14 incorporates the annual World Aquaculture Society symposium and the biennial Australasian Aquaculture Conference and Trade Show WAA14 will be the largest gathering of international aquaculture professionals in the Asia Pacific region for 2014, with more than 3000 delegates expected to attend WAA14 will also incorporate the Australasian Aquaculture Awards The State Government is the major sponsor of the conference, which provides the opportunity to showcase South Australia’s aquaculture industry on a global stage

4 BENEFITS FOR SA Showcase the strength of SA’s progressive aquaculture industry and legislative frameworks Promote the premium seafood products produced by SA aquaculture farmers to an international audience Establish stronger ties with international aquaculture experts Highlight aquaculture investment opportunities in SA Develop and enhance new and existing export markets Promote local R&D expertise by highlighting significant research and development projects being undertaken in SA

5 PROGRAM ATTRACTIONS World Oyster Congress may be held in conjunction with WAA14, providing an opportunity for SAOGA members to network with international oyster industry experts An extensive Conference Program will feature sessions and workshops on a range of topics and issues, including: - Molluscs and Crustaceans - Marine Fish Culture - Freshwater Fish Culture- Ecology and Environment - Animal Science, Health and Diseases - Production Systems- Post Harvest Technologies - Nutrition, Genetics, Aquatic Animal Health - Economics and Social Sciences

6 OYSTER PROGRAM Two Oyster sessions 1.Oysters 2.Pacific Oyster Mortality Syndrome (POMS) There is also scope to propose other session topics.
