4 Amendment 11  Places limits on law suits against states

5 Amendment 12  Changes the procedure for electing President and Vice-president (now they are on the same ballot)

6 Amendment 13 (Civil War Amendment)  Abolished slavery and forced labor

7 Amendment 14 (Civil War Amendment)  Defines US citizenship to all born or naturalized in the US  Guarantees due process and equal protection to all citizens under the law

8 Amendment 15 (Civil War Amendment)  Allows voting to all men regardless of race

9 Amendment 16  Gives the authority to levy an income tax

10 Amendment 17  Establishes the direct election of Senators

11 Amendment 18  Prohibition of Alcohol

12 Amendment 19  Women’s Suffrage (Women’s right to vote)

13 Amendment 20  Changes the beginning of Presidential and Congressional terms  Moved the beginning and ending of the terms of the President and VP from March 4 to January 20, and Congress from March 4 to January 3

14 Amendment 21  Repeals Prohibition

15 Amendment 22  Establishes a two term limit for President

16 Amendment 23  Gives residents of Washington DC the right to vote in national elections

17 Amendment 24  Abolishes the use of poll taxes in voting

18 Amendment 25  Defines the succession of the office of President

19 Amendment 26  Lowers the voting age from 21 to 18 years old

20 Amendment 27  Places limits on Congressional pay raises until the beginning of the next term
