3. Sportsmanship ?????? HS & the ????? Conference are making sportsmanship an emphasis this year. Educational Athletics are an extension of the classroom: –We want EVERYONE to feel comfortable and welcome at ALL school events We encourage our fans to be spirited, to support our school, and our teams. We want our students and athletes to represent our school in a quality manner while maintaining sportsmanship.

4. Sportsmanship (cont’d) Three simple guidelines that the ???? Conference and ????? High School expect ALL spectators to follow: NO PROFANITY STAY POSITIVE ONLY ADDRESS OUR TEAM If you follow the above guidelines you will stay on the “right” side of the line. Fans and spectators making bad choices and ‘supporting’ their team, the other team, or the officials in negative ways or ways that do not follow the guidelines above, may result in actions that could include removal from the contest.

7. Specific Rules – Academics:  Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA & be passing all classes in order to participate in competitions.  The initial grade check at the beginning of the season will be determined by their semester grades.  Subsequent grade checks will occur every 4 ½ weeks.

Specific Rules – Academics (cont’d) :  Students with failing grade(s) who have above a 2.0 GPA will sit out two weeks of competition.  Students below a 2.0 GPA will sit out THREE weeks of competition.  After the 2 or 3 week probation, another grade check will occur to determine if the student will be allowed to compete or if another 2 week probation period will occur.  WIAA STATE ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY.

9. Specific Rules – Attendance:  The ???? SCHOO DISTRICT ?? requires that students attend class in order to participate in extra- curricular activities.  Students who do not attend class will not be allowed to practice or compete that day in extra-curricular activities.  Students absent due to school related activities will be allowed to practice and compete (field trip, Running Start, etc.).

10. Specific Rules – Attendance cont’d :  Students attending an appointment (doctor, dentist, orthodontist, or court) will be permitted to practice and compete that afternoon, so long as they have a note from the professional’s office stating their appointment. Parent notes stating this appointment are NOT acceptable.

11. Specific Rules – Transportation:  We recommend and support coaches that require athletes to ride the bus to events.  Anytime an athlete is not on a Yellow School Bus, an authorization form must be filled out.

Specific Rules – Transportation (cont’d) :  Athletes can be released to THEIR PARENTS ONLY. – Not to Grandparents, not siblings, not neighbors, ONLY PARENTS.  If parents want another Adult to take their son/daughter home from an event, they must fill out a release form stating this AHEAD OF TIME.

15. Inclement Weather If school is cancelled, all after school activities will also be cancelled. If school starts late due to weather (1 or 2 hours late), ???? School District will determine if after school activities will continue or be cancelled. If school is released early, all after school activities will be cancelled. ALL MEANS NO GAMES OR PRACTICES FOR ATHLETICS OR ACTIVITIES. NO EVENTS ON CAMPUS
