BACKGROUND Date of birth: January 15, 1929 Place of birth: Atlanta, Georgia Date of death: April 4, 1968 Family makeup: Parents- Michael, Sr. and Alberta King (father adopted the name Martin Luther King, Sr., which his son did as well.) Siblings- Willie Christine (sister) and Alfred Daniel Williams (brother) Wife- Coretta Scott Children- Four children

IMPORTANT EVENTS Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955)- fought segregation on buses Southern Baptist Leadership Conference (1957)- fought for blacks’ rights including voting, segregation, labor rights, and other civil rights. IMPACTS AND RELATIONS Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous speech impacted the world promoting equality and civil liberty for all. Martin Luther King, Jr. dies in the middle of The Wednesday Wars and his death impacted many of the characters.
