Geography in English
2
One beautiful Monday in April brought the students of class IA a lot of consternation.
3
Wait a moment… It’s Geography in our timetable… Or is it English??? How on Earth…
4
Some students were particularly confused when they saw two teachers comming to the classroom…
5
As a part of our Comenius project Anna Brodzik (English teacher) and Ewa Karmanska-Kocznur (Geography teacher) decided to surprise their students by a Geography- in- English lesson.
6
The topic of the lesson was Walking the paths of lava – extinct volcanoes.
7
And let’s start from some vocabulary exercises.
8
Now look at the maps….
9
Let’s log in... …and watch the material from Greece
10
And everything in English…. …oh dear…
11
Even Hubert is (deadly) interested …
12
in the geological past of Lesvos.
16
Now, please, work in groups…
17
…and look at the volcanoes in Poland.
18
…and in our area…
22
A group- work activity about our native volcanoes.
23
„And be ready to answer my questions”, says Ewa.
27
Ewa patiently explains what a shield volcano is
30
And some work from the English teacher - a word square - and a crossword.
31
Ready, steady… let’s check your answers.
32
Not that bad, Partyk!
34
And Ewa is proud too
36
And some more work to do…
37
How engaged is Partyk today…
38
The teachers ready to help…
39
Let’s sum up the lesson!
40
And you are free to go!
41
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION! THE END
