. June 10, 2009 At the western side of the floodplain at the southern extent of the Phase I restored floodplain, the FWC funded a roller chop project to remove unnatural wax myrtle stands on the fringe of the floodplain.

. June 16, 2009 The entire Kissimmee River Basin was recently treated for Brazilian Pepper. The above area represents a large stand that was treated in lower Phase I floodplain. Observations by scientific staff indicate that treatment eliminated nearly 100% of Brazilian Pepper in the Kissimmee basin
