Political Party Contribution Report Under section 29C of the Representation of the People Act the declaration of donations (Contribution reports) received by the political parties are required to be furnished before the due date for furnishing income tax return of the financial year. Under sub-section (4) of Section 29C of the R. P. Act 1951 the consequence of not filing the Statement is that the Party will not be entitled to Tax relief under the income Tax Act.

29B. Political parties entitled to accept contribution.—Subject to the provisions of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956), every political party may accept any amount of contribution voluntarily offered to it by any person or company other than a Government company: Provided that no political party shall be eligible to accept any contribution from any foreign sourcedefined under clause (e) of section 2 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976 (49 of 1976).
