Americans today come from many ethnic groups. 3. How does one become a U.S. citizen? By a legal process called naturalization. 4. Compare and contrast illegal and legal aliens? 5. From NE states to growing population in the south & western states 3. How does Congress remove an official from office? House impeaches the accused officails of misconduct in office, the senate holds a trial to decide guilt or innocence 2/3 vote is necessary to convict and remove a person from office. 4. List qualifications for Senators & Representatives… House- 25 yrs old, live in state you rep, US citizen for at least 7 yrs Senate- 30 yrs old, live in state you rep, US citizen for at least 9 yrs 5. How does a bill become a law? Introduced, sent to standing committee, debated in both house & senate, voted on in both houses of congress, sent to Pres for sinature.
