3
Hace sol (pronounced Ah-say sol)
4
Está parcialmente nublado
5
Está nublado
6
Hace calor
7
Hace frío
8
Hace fresco (notice the temperature is mild)
9
Llueve (pronounced you-weh-vay)
10
Nieva
11
Hace viento Está ventoso
12
A little more; a little less If you want to say that it isnt very sunny or cold or windy, you can add the word poco to your answer. For example, Hace poco sol or Hace poco frío or Hace poco viento. If you want to say that it is very sunny, cold, or windy you would add mucho to your answer. For example: Hace mucho sol or Hace mucho frío or Hace mucho viento.

In class In class we review these weather words every day. The teacher asks the important question, ¿Qué tiempo hace hoy? which means Whats the weather today? You can answer that question with one of the weather words shown in this PowerPoint presentation. If you want to say that we dont have a particular type of weather on that day, simply add no to the beginning. For example, to say that it isnt raining, you would say, No llueve.
14
In class Take a risk and try to answer the question, ¿Qué tiempo hace hoy? now that you know how you can answer the question. If you want to know the temperature before saying if its hace calor, fresco, or frío, ask the question, ¿Qué temperatura hace? so you can find out the temperature first.
15
What now? Practice these weather words so you feel more comfortable telling what the weather is. Use these words with people at home to describe the weather each day. Ask your teacher if you have any doubts about something. Leave me feedback about this or any PowerPoint presentation you find on my website. Your comments are helpful in making these resources the best they can be for my students and their families.
