There are 2 teams: 1.Government- proposes and defends the motion. 2.Opposition- refuse and negates the motion. Each team consist of 3 members POI is allowed ASIAN PARLIAMENTARY STYLE

DEBATE FORMAT Case Building time: 20 minutes 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd Speaker : 7 minutes and 20 seconds Reply Speaker: 4 minutes and 20 seconds POIs are allowed between 1 st and 6 th minute. Only 1 st and 2 nd speakers are allowed to reply speaker Motion will be given a week before the debate held

1 st speaker role Affirmative Defining the motion of the debate. Contextualize the debate Presenting the affirmative’s stance. Delivering substantial arguments. Providing a brief summary/recap of the speech Negative Presenting the negative’s stance Rebutting the 1 st affirmative speaker. Outlining the negative’s team split. Delivering the substantial argument. Providing a brief summary/recap of the speech.

2 nd speaker role affirmative Rebutting the 1 st negative’s major arguments Restating the affirmative’s team case briefly. Delivering his substantial argument. REPLY SPEAKER Providing the summary or the overview of the debate. Identifying the issues raised by both sides. Providing a bias adjudication of the debate.

MOTION DEBATE 1. THBT an integrated curremcy in AEC will contribute in succeeding AEC. 2. THW make English as an official language im AEC 3. THW standardize science curriculum in ASEAN countries. 4. THW make it compulsory for students to learn ASEAN countries’ language in school 5. THBT AEC will not contribute significantly in developing science in ASEAN countries 6. THW educate parents about AEC

MOTION DEBATE 7. Science and Engineering students should study in college for a minimum of 5 years. 8. THW make English as a main language since Junior High School 9. THW allocate a spesific budget for research development in ASEAN 10. ASOSTyN doesn’t contribute in improving research competency in college students and therefore should be disbanded.
