5 MORE REQUIREMENTS: Bed is usually the focal point Placement depends on doors/windows… Try to leave space on both sides of bed Most people want a nightstand next to bed Sitting area or work area may be desired in a large room Child’s bedroom: multipurpose (play, study, hobbies, toys)

10 TRAFFIC PATTERN GUIDELINES FOR BEDROOMS: Place the BED first Plan clearance space for traffic areas (sleeping/dressing/storage) Plan a focal point or center of interest Furniture should be functional and attractive Don’t over furnish a room Too little furniture is better than too much! Move templates & experiment until groupings and traffic patterns are satisfactory. Flow should be direct and convenient (not an obstacle course of furniture)
