Analyzing in detail the Mar-2010 CRR market results I noted that there is something strange in the crr awards report. The two awards below should have the same clearing price (Shadow Price), but they were reported with different ones. The product is exactly the same (same Category, HedgeType, Class, CRRType, Source, Sink, StartDate, EndDate, TimeOfUse) so there is no reason for different prices. Can you explain this difference? 15 6/12/2016 There will be a difference in clearing price if one bid is a 24-Hour bid and the other is a standalone. In the case above, the 22222 CRR was the result of a 24-hour bid, whereas the 11111 was a stand alone bid. The Clearing price for a 24hour bid is the weighted (by hours) average of the clearing prices for the three times of use.
16
I know you explained it in a recent CRR call, but can you remind me again: shadow price = CRR clearing price? Is there any further significance to it that may be escaping me (i.e. otherwise you’d just call it “clearing price”)? The easy answer is they are the same in the ERCOT Nodal CRR market. The Nexant system uses “shadow price” and “clearing price” interchangeably. Section 7.5.5.3(1)(c ) states: “The CRR clearing price is equal to the corresponding Shadow Price for that CRR product.” ERCOT CRR has put in for an enhancement to change the name, but since it does not affect the system operation, it received a rather low priority. For now, we are just getting the word out that they are the same. 16 6/12/2016
17
Is the CRR Network Model available for public consumption on MIS? The network Model is posted on the MIS Secure area (7.5.3 (1) (i)). The only other information that is not Public on the CRR MIS site is the links to the application – those are certified and only entities with valid CRRAH and CP digital certificates can get to them. 17 6/12/2016
