The Business Plan Part A
3
Part A: The Business Plan Business Name: IT2U Simply we’re an IT repair service that comes to YOU and provides repairs for your tablet/computer in your own home. What we’ll provide: The service we will provide is a computer / tablet repair service that comes to your home and provides a diagnosis about the problem that the owner has incurred OR we will repair the computer / tablet in a van that is specialised in repairs.
4
Part A: The Business Plan We’ll start from scratch: Because there is little competition in this market. So starting from scratch provides a low start-up cost. As well as allowing us to create a name for ourselves. Form of ownership: We will have a partnership. This is due to the the necessary travel factor, knowledge (between the 2 partners; different understanding about the problems) and starting up the business. Because the business is centralised around travelling, other wise it would be impossible for one person to help all the customers.
5
Part A: The Business Plan Identify and describe in detail, with supporting research, the following: Your competitors: http://geeks2u.com.au/ http://geeks2u.com.au/ http://www.youritguy.com.au/ http://www.youritguy.com.au/ These 2 businesses are virtually the only two that provide the same or similar service that we do. Geeks2U, actually have an idea that is very alike, where they travel to you and fix the computer/tablet on site. Although they do not have a specialised van. YourITGuy, also follows the same idea as Geeks2U but they do have a lot of fine print involved with the repairs/diagnosis. Your location demographics: Each represents a computer repair place in Melbourne. Only 2 of the are locations that provide in home repair and have a store that also repairs computer/tablets. In 2011, 79% of Australian households had internet access at home. And 83% of homes had computer access where they live. These numbers represent Australia as a whole, but narrowing down the target location to Melbourne, still produces similar statistics where 73% of families own a computer. Your target market: Our target market are elderly residents of Melbourne. Of which many of these elderly residents will not understand how to fix/diagnose their problems. Although we will help anyone that requires any repairs, we will cater and centralise our pricing and promotion around this aspect.

Part A: The Business Plan What equipment or assets will you need? Explain each item. Van- (2015 Citroen Berlingo L2 HDi Manual MY15) $25,900 The van is an essential part of the business and one that separates our business from the other computer repair facilities, in this oversaturated market. Without it we will not have a suitable means of travel for this business. 2 x Computer- (Razer Blade 2015) $2,099 This computer will be the “control”. When setting up a wireless network/site/cloud, we’ll need a reliable computer (which a customer may not have) to provide the necessary assistance. Repair tools- Various Assortment $500 These tools are specifically used for hardware purposes, to repair the computers/tablets. Small Office- Rent- $450 p/w This small office is used as a “home base” so that we can keep any necessary equipment here. It is also a good starting point if the business were to ever expand and repair in a physical shop.
7
Part A: The Business Plan Where will your business be located? Explain why this is the most appropriate location. The business will have a small physical location, but will be pre- dominantly web-based and use a “from home” response structure to cater for the customer’s needs. Business will be acquired by, emails and phone calls. What possible ethical issues might your business face? Ethics are the moral rights and wrongs. We are in a business where we can make decisions on the prices we set for components and going out to someone's home. And we can use the fact that our target market (the elderly) do not know how much most repairs will cost. This can allow us to make a large margin on our service without providing as much work as we may make it out to be. This may seem un-ethical, but many businesses use it daily to make such large gross profit.

The Selling Process and Selling Techniques Part B

Part B: The Selling Process and Selling Techniques Design a logo for your business:
10
Create a slogan for your business: (IT2U) we’re there for you Design one form of promotion for your product/service that you intend to sell: Online advertising, with the use of pop-up ads (the most annoying kind) to make sure we’re aiming for people ON COMPUTERS, and if they’re having problems (possibly whilst on the computer), they may contact us. We will also pin flyers to poles around neighbourhoods that are filled with elderly residents (our target market), whether it be a street or an entire block. This makes sure that we are able to cater to our target market and even people who are facing issues with their computers. Part B: The Selling Process and Selling Techniques
11
Explain your marketing Mix and how the 4P’s will work together to ensure that you generate sales: The 4P’s will work together simply: Product : Is a service that comes to your home to repair your computers and tablets. Price : Is paid by the hour, $89, and capped at 3hrs with a minimum cost of $89. Place : There is no place! The flexibility that our business model approaches from allows us to be everywhere! (Melbourne metro) So, that we can cater to a very large audience, with no hassle for them to come to us. Promotion : Pop-up ads and flyers that are placed where our target market is situated All of the P’s will play a vital roll in the success of our business, but the most important is ‘Place’. It is so important because it is the fundamental structure to our business and a unique and fresh standing on current computer and tablet repairs, allowing us to gain an advantage on competitors because we are able to get to our customers whilst our customers DO NOT have to get to us!
