I enjoyed teaching adults but not half as much as children. After medically retiring I started to continue with my education to reach my first goal of being an elementary teacher.

Reaching my Goal I had completed 50% of my graduate degree when we moved to Virginia. I was able to use the knowledge I had learned to develop a portfolio to secure the job I have today. Four classes that I found to be the most helpful were 21 st Century Teaching, Assessments, Assisting Students with Technology, and Early Childhood Methods.

Action Research This past fall I starting teaching for the Prince William County School District in Virginia. Even though I was still teaching preschool special education their were many problems that I encounter during the first few months of the school year. By using an action research plan I was able to work with my paraprofessionals to find the root cause to our classroom management problem during the first twenty minutes of class. Everyday I use the tools we implemented and I am thankful for learning how to conduct an action research plan! That is one tool in my toolbox I will definitely use again.
