I Was Just Thinking… Proverbs 16:1-3
3
Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD, Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool (Isa. 1:18)

Abraham said, Because I thought, surely there is no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife (Gen. 20:11)

But after a while, in the time of wheat harvest, Samson visited his wife with a young goat, and said, I will go in to my wife in her room. But her father did not let him enter. Her father said, I really thought that you hated her intensely; so I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister more beautiful than she? Please let her be yours instead (Jdg. 15:1-2)

Naaman came with his horses and his chariots and stood at the doorway of the house of Elisha. Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you and you will be clean. But Naaman was furious and went away and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper. Are not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. Then his servants came near and spoke to him and said, My father, had the prophet told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, Wash, and be clean? (2 Kgs. 5:9-13)

But to the wicked God says, What right have you to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth? For you hate discipline, And you cast My words behind you. When you see a thief, you are pleased with him, And you associate with adulterers. You let your mouth loose in evil And your tongue frames deceit. You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son. These things you have done and I kept silence; You thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes (Psa. 50:16-21)

And He told them a parable, saying, The land of a rich man was very productive. And he began reasoning to himself, saying, What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops? Then he said, This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry. But God said to him, You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared? So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God (Lk. 12:16-21)

Right Thinking With God We often need to admit we need a counselor (Jer. 10:23) When one stops to think about it, he will realize that God is right every time (Psa. 119:59) There will also be a realization of the limits of our thinking (1 Cor. 13:11) A great resolve to restrict ourselves (Rom. 12:3) Pay close attention to what is written (1 Cor. 4:6)
