Put away all materials in a caring manner. Do not write in or on any materials without permission. Handle disks, manipulatives, books, games, and other students’ property with care. This will allow our learning experiences to be more enjoyable because we will have a variety of objects to use. If we do not take care of these materials, our activities and learning may be limited. Furthermore, our materials cost money and some of them may not be replaceable. Failure to follow this rule will result in immediate suspension of use of materials.
19
Begin and complete all assignments as they are given. Turn in neat work in a timely manner. This also means checking your work and making corrections before you turn it in. This will also help you take pride in your work. Write your name on your paper! Stay on Task. Remember to stay focused. Do not waste time talking about things that do not pertain to the lesson. This will keep us on schedule and it will allow more time for other activities at the end of the day. When you complete all of your assignments you will be allowed to do anchor assignments on the computer or in learning centers. If your work is not neat or incorrect you will lose such privileges. Your Friday notebook is taken home on Friday’s and will be signed by your parents and returned on Monday.

A verbal warning will be given to each student who does not follow a school rule or expectation. The staff member will take this learning opportunity to teach the student what a proper alternative choice could have been. 1. Warning
21
2. Parent Contact A conference between a student and staff member will be held to make the student aware of his/her poor judgment regarding a particular incident. This will provide another opportunity for discussing possible alternatives available for the student to correct the problem. The staff member will then contact a parent/guardian as needed. They will work together to come up with a plan to help the student make better choices.
22
3. Referral to Office Any student who continues to make poor choices or put someone/something in danger will be sent to the office to speak with an administrator. The administrator will investigate the incident(s) and determine appropriate action to resolve the issue. Parents will be contacted.
23
1. Tickets Tickets will be given to students who exhibit good choices, school rules or citizenship. The tickets will be placed in their classroom reward bin and names will be drawn out each week for a prize. 2. Raffle Small monthly rewards will be randomly presented via raffle to individual students in each grade who earned a ticket. The winners of the raffle will be called down during the announcements. 3. Random Calls Home Staff members will make random calls home to let parents know their children are being responsible.
