3 Today’s Learning  Glossary homework check  Identify a number of stakeholders related to water  Develop the perspectives of some of those stakeholders  Consider how you fit into these views

4 Glossary homework  Precipitation Rain, snow, sleet or hail that falls to the ground  Sustainable To be able to be maintained at a continuous level  Hydrology Branch of science concerned with the earths water  Anaerobic Relating to the absence of free oxygen  Condensation Water that collects as droplets on a cold surface when humid air is in contact with it.  Evaporation The process of becoming a vapour

5 Revision – The water cycle  Draw an outline of the water cycle with labels and describing the main stages of the water cycle  Hand to peer for marking  Give your peer a mark out of 10 for their water cycle 5 marks for the correct process in order 5 marks for the description (Up to 2 bonus marks for presentation)

6 Stakeholders in water use  Stakeholder: A person with an interest or concern in something  Identify different water use stakeholders People(s) that have a different interest or concern with regard to water use Pen race Think local community

8 Presentation – How we use water  Four Groups – puzzle piece split Prepare 2-4 minute presentations on one of Hydroelectric power generation Agricultural uses of water Recreational uses of water Personal water uses Guideline sheets will be handed to each group

9 Water users  Research water users Recreational – Holiday boater/fisherman Agricultural – Local orchard Commercial – Power company Personal – Your family  Create presentation on - (Follow the guidelines) Who the user is How they use water How much they use Their view on water conservation..........

10 During presentations  Take notes under the headings of each stakeholder  Describe how each stakeholder uses the water resource  Identify where we fit into these stakeholder models Happy rooster, sad rooster  How this shapes our view of water

12 Summary – Discussion  There are many stakeholders of water and they all have different ways to use water  How do you fit into these perspectives  How does this influence your opinion on the preservation of water
