25 Olweus Bully Prevention Bullying is when a person repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful things to another person, who has difficulty defending himself/herself. Bullying is aggressive behavior that involves unwanted, negative actions. Bullying implies an imbalance of power. Bullying typically involves a pattern of behavior repeated over time. What is bullying?

27 Class meetings are held each week in every homeroom. Students discuss topics related to bullying and learn ways to address bullying situations. Positive consequences will be given when students report and try to prevent bullying behaviors. Negative consequences will be enforced as part of Peebles’ Guidelines and Code of Conduct: 1 st Incident 1. Verbal warning to student. 2. Staff records student’s name in Black Book. 2 nd Incident 1.Student is reminded of first warning. 2.Bullying Notification Form completed by staff. 3.Student contacts parent(s). 4.Loss of recess (on curb). 3 rd Incident 1.Student is reminded of first warning. 2.Bullying Notification Form completed by staff. 3.Student contacts parent(s). 4.Individual plan is developed. 5.Loss of recess and isolated lunch. 4 th Incident 1.
