1. Northeast Region Activating Strategy BeforeAfter The Appalachian Mountains are located in the Northeast Region of the Unites States. The Climate is very cold in the Northeast region all year long. New York City is the largest city in the Northeast Region Many tourist visit the Northeast Region each year to see the brightly covered fall leaves. Many states in the Northeast Region are located along the Atlantic Coast. The Appalachian Mountains are “newer” mountains.

6. Northeast Region Land and Water 1) They are one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. Over time, water, wind and ice have caused the rock of the mountains to break down. 2) As glaciers moved across the land, they wore down mountains, carved deep groves into the coastline and carried away most of the fertile soil.
