2. Location The Qinghai lake is also called cuowenbu( 措温布 ) ， namely, it means the ching lake. It locates in qinghai basin of the northeast of Qinghai province. It is not only the largest internal lake but also the largest salt water lake.

3. Climate It locates in plateau, the average temperature is just 15 degree in July or August. Rape butterfly is blooming along the Qinghai lake. What a wonderful scene. According to the investigation from temperature research, it indicates the area of lake is enlarging. The sunlight is efficient. The winter is cold and long, the Summer is cool. There are more winds and storms in spring. Little rainfall is prevailing during the whole year, so the sunshine time is abundant.

It locates in northeast of Qinghai, it has about 500 meters Length and about 150 meters width and lives thousands of birds Therefore it is called “the world of birds” or “the paradise of birds” The island of birds contains two islands that have different shapes. One is called western mountain also named egg island. the other is haixipo. It is like a camel peak, which covers 0.11 kilometers. But now it is narrowed due to the reduce of lake water, the summit is 7.6 meters above the lake surface.

7. There are various birds on this island. especially from April to June, Millions of birds lay eggs, it is magnificent. The island of birds is the ideal home because of its unique geographically condition and environment. Recently, the scene is attracted tourists and people’s love. In the south of the island, the administration is set for preserving the birds and it is listed nature protective area.
