HVAC system
3
HVAC system proposal Principle Volume treated between doors 202 and 203 (~ 1000 m3) AHU1, filtration (1 Vol/h) to allow RP measure activity, 100 % recycled air AHU2, extraction AHU (5 Vol/h) for air purge before access No pressure control AHUs located in bldg. 375 Air Handling Units Tightness class B or better ( EN 1886: 0.44 l/s/m2 at -400 Pa, 0.63 l/s/m2 at +700 Pa ) Filtration AHU1 with: isolation dampers (NF) absolute filters ( F9-H12 ) fire dampers at the through-wall passages Extraction AHU2 with: to be designed following RP calculations of contaminants dispersion By-pass of the extraction AHU for cold smokes extraction Fresh air intake by (manual) damper on door 202 fire dampers at the through-wall passage Ducts: class B Eurovent 2/2 and SS welded pipe inside bldg. 375

HVAC system Other works not part of TS-CV responsibility Civil engineering works (drillings) Powering of AHUs Tightness of doors (important for performance of system) Fire dampers controlled by fire detection system Operating modes To be determined Extraction mode be operated (manually) by RP operators or CCC Smoke extraction policy to be defined

Water cooling system
7
Present system left unused on site until final decommissioning of n-TOF Proposal closed circuit demineralised water with Primary cooling provided by 10 kW air-cooled chiller at 16°C Secondary circuit demineralised water, (1+1) SS hermetic pumps, ~ 10 m3/h, 18°C, max 2 bar Welded plate heat exchanger 50 μm SS filter Cationic resins demineralisation cartridge Cooling plant in containment tank, with anti-projection cabin water piping double wall Conductivity measure O2 measure Deoxygenating system Propose rack-hood extraction system for O2 gas (analysis by RP?) Water samples possible No automatic top-up of demineralised water

Water cooling schematic
9
Water cooling system Waste disposal Regeneration of the cationic cartridges not possible at CERN Project to handle waste Project to provide cartridges (outside CERN standard) Periodic circuit drain water treatable at new waste treatment plant Project to provide Schutz type containers for drained water transport
10
Water cooling system Other works not part of TS-CV responsibility Civil engineering works (drillings) Power supply Degasing system to be specified by project O2 measurement to be specified by project
