www.planetfirst.co.uk Breakdown: Waste Carbon emissions from waste disposal totalled 4.9 tCO 2 e. Emissions from landfill comprised 30% of the total emissions from waste, however only 3% of waste was disposed in this way.

www.planetfirst.co.uk Breakdown: Water 2,451 m 3 of water was used through business operations, generating a total of 2.7 tCO 2 e from water supply and treatment. Overall water usage has decreased by 60% since the previous reporting period.

www.planetfirst.co.uk Breakdown: Fleet Travel The total emissions travel in diesel fleet vehicles were 11.9 tCO 2 e from 63,427 kilometers travelled over the year.

www.planetfirst.co.uk Cost Analysis The table shows net costs related to activities reported in the carbon footprint, where available. Potential Cost Savings By reducing electricity by 5% over the coming year, you could save: £4,041.53 By reducing natural gas by 5% over the coming year, you could save: £5,652.02 By reducing waste use by 5% over the coming year, you could save: £821.65 Total potential cost saving:£10,515.19 Source20132014Cost Saving Building Electricity£231,879.00£80,830.60-£151,048.40 Natural Gas£166,248.81£113,040.30-£53,208.50 Waste Landfill-£664.37- Recycled-£15,768.61- Water Water Supply £4,635.45-- Water Treatment Travel Fleet - Diesel--- Total£402,763.26£210,303.88-£204,256.90

www.planetfirst.co.uk Comparison The total carbon footprint decreased by 58.2% since the previous year of reporting, a reduction of 1,355 tCO 2 e. The carbon emissions per employee decreased by 55.4%.

Standard & Methodology Refer to the Planet Mark Code of Practice for information on the methodology and standards used in the preparation of this report. All carbon emissions calculations are in accordance with the WRI/WBCSD Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and Defra emissions factors. Current reporting is in line with Defra 2014 and the base year reporting is in line with Defra 2012. Normalisation Comparisons of total carbon footprint assertion are based on normalised values. Normalisation matches reporting sources in both periods ensuring a like for like comparison. In accordance with Defra 2014, carbon emissions assertions are not retrospectively re-asserted to reflect changes in emissions factors. Restatement of baseline figures may occur to account for updates to our Code of Practice to ensure fair comparisons. 15 www.planetfirst.co.uk Data Quality See ‘Data Quality Matrix’ in The Planet Mark Code of Practice for more information Recommendations for improving data quality SCORE PREVIOUS SCORE Relevance of boundary33 Data completeness32 Transparency33 Data accuracy33 Consistency30 TOTAL SCORE15 out of 2011 out of 16 Relevance of boundary A good set of reporting sources has been included within the carbon footprint. A more accurate reflection of the organisational carbon footprint can be achieved by including reporting sources such as other business travel. Data completeness Most carbon emissions sources within the current carbon footprint boundary have been reported on. In future years, efforts should be made to include as much data as possible within the footprint boundary and record all relevant exclusions and omissions. TransparencyMost information on data compilation has been provided and information on the assumptions made. To increase transparency in the future, copies of utilities bills, information on how data has been compiled and a record of missing data and assumptions should be provided. Data accuracyMost data provided has been based on actual meter readings, invoices and receipts. In future, data should be sourced from actual readings and submitted on a monthly or quarterly basis through CloudApps. ConsistencyConsistent data has been provided compared to the previous reporting period. Efforts should be made to ensure that data quality is maintained and improved over time where possible. All data reported should be provided next year with equal or improved accuracy.
