WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT MISSION STATEMENT To ensure the availability of a skilled, multi-level workforce for new & existing Delaware businesses.

ELIGIBILITY WHERE DO THE FUNDS ORIGINATE FROM? The Unemployment Insurance Fund WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY? New or Existing Delaware companies Company must be in good standing with other State Regulatory Agencies Must be a contributor to the Delaware Unemployment Insurance Fund and pay into the Delaware Training Tax Fund

ELIGIBILITY, continued Training must be customized to meet the needs of the employer or industry. Employers are required to match training grant dollars with a one- to-one match --- Can be in-kind contributions. Trainees must be full-time & permanent employees with benefits. Employees/trainees must qualify as entry level through front line supervisors. All trainees must work in Delaware. 25% trainees must reside in the State of Delaware.

REQUIREMENTS Grants available up to $100,000 per contract. Short -Term Training Grants - maximum six months. Company selects trainer (internal or external trainer). Maximum award amount $2,500 per participant. No retroactive compensation for training. If approved, employers receives one-half of the award amount upfront balance upon successful completion.

WORK FLOW and TIME LINE Requires 45 days for processing. Workforce Representative meets with Employer. Tours facility. Gains understanding of the training needs. – Who, What, When, Where and Why is this training needed. – How will success be measured? Reviews Application process with the Client. CLOSEOUT DOCUMENTS Final documents are due upon completion of the training. Training reports (name, title, date, number of hours trained for each day of training). Participant survey (demographic information) for each participant. Satisfaction survey – completed by employer. Upon successful completion of the required documents final payment will be disbursed. Six month follow-up to determine whether the training met company expectations.
