31. Contribution in RCA Projects PAEC has been actively contributing in a number of RCA Projects since its joining in 1974. Currently it is participating in 16 RCA Projects for the period 2012-13. A laboratory in a Nuclear Research Reactor at PINSTECH has been declared as IAEA/RCA Regional Resource Unit (RRU) for South Asia and the Pacific region on the basis of generating high quality data in the areas of environment, human health, industry etc. This RRU offers training of manpower in South Asian and the Pacific Region countries.

32. What I did at RCARO Updated information on RCARO web page. Suggested some corrections in the contents on the web page. Assisted RCARO in the implementation of two RCA-UNDP projects by coordinating with the NPCs and participants of the regional training courses.

33. What I did at RCARO Contributed in preparing a report on Kick-off meeting of electron beam project by making summaries of all the country reports. Participated in the initiation of Regional Training Course of RCA-UNDP Project on SPECT/PET. Summarized and updated all the success stories, published during the last three years, for inclusion in the RCA Brochure 2013.

34. Participated in a two days RCARO promotional activity at Korea Nuclear Society Spring Meeting in Gwangju.

35. I visited Ion beam and Gamma ray facilities at ARTI. I also visited HANARO Research Reactor at KAERI.

36. Recommendations A brief (one page) introduction of each Member State, containing some basic information and nuclear facilities related to RCA thematic areas, may be included on the web page. There is an option on the RCARO web page to upload “Member State News”, which is currently inactive. The NRs should be asked to keep this part updated by uploading news regularly.

37. Recommendations RCARO has developed a large workforce of temporary staff over a period of time. A strategy may be evolved by RCARO to utilize their services remotely via email. The temporary staff should be given more work in order to fully utilize their 03 months stay here. Being an international organization, RCARO should encourage the use of English in the office environment.
