Annex III: Specific rules for ITN Part A: Implementation of the project Performance obligations Selection of researchers Beneficiary‘s relationship with the researcher Confidentiality, Publicity Part B: Financial Provisions Eligible costs, interests Part C: Intellectual Property Rights Access Rights Annex II Each recruited fellow should receive a copy

ITN Recruitment

Eligible Researchers Types of Researchers: 1.Early Stage Researchers (ESR) -Research experience ≤ 4 years -No PhD -Duration of appointment: 3-36 months (typical appointments is 36 months) 2.Experienced Researchers (ER) still in their early career -PhD or at least 4 years of research experience -Duration of appointment: 3-24 months -NB: total research experience ≤ 5 years Overall network: at least 80% ESR An individual researcher may NOT be supported as an Early Stage and Experienced Reseracher within the same ITN!!!!

… Eligible Researchers 5 Years Experience: Initial Training Networks are limited to researchers in the first 5 years of their career at the time of recruitment. Experience is calculated at date of appointment

… Eligible Researchers Nationality : Researchers can be nationals of any country other than the country of the premises of the host organisation where they will carry out their project. Exceptions: -international organisations: CERN; ESRF; etc. -researchers with more than one nationality: can be recruited in the country of nationality in which he/she has not resided during the previous 5 years; -researchers who have legally resided and have had their principal activity (work, studies, etc.) in a third country for at least 3 out of the last 4 years

… Eligible Researchers Mobility : Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the host for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to their recruitment –Exception: international organisations: CERN; ESRF; etc.

Researchers Entitlements: Marie Curie Fellows 1.Marie Curie Fellows should have: -Employment contracts!!!, pension, full social security, maternity leave etc. 2.Reseachers made aware that they are Marie Curie Fellows and of their rights and obligations: -Reserachers Z-Card distributed to fellows at the beginning of their contract

Allowances… … for the benefit of the fellow: p aid regularly: monthly/bi-monthly/weekly Living Allowance: –Fixed amount of 34.500 € yearly for ESR, and 53.000 € yearly for ER (as specified in Work Programme 2008), adjusted for country of host institution = correction coeffient ( i.e. Czech Republic 77,2% France 104, 4%; Germany 101, 5%; Ireland 113, 3%; Italy 103, 9%; Netherlands 101,2%; Slovak Rep. 82,2%; UK 109,2%) Mobility Allowance: –Fixed amount depending on the family status at date of recruitment( i.e. 500 € monthly for researchers without a family and 800 € monthly for researchers with familiy), adjusted for country of host institution

Allowances… … for the benefit of the fellow: Travel Allowance: –Fixed amount (< 500 Km = 250 €; 500- 1.000 Km = 500 €; 1.000 -1.500 Km = 750 € etc.) specified in Work Programme 2008 as well as in Appendix I to Annex I, depending upon the distance from country of origin to country of host institute. –As Travel Distance Calculator please use the following links: http://www.freemaptools.com/how-far-is-it-between.htm http://www.geobytes.com/CityDistanceTool.htm?loadpage By country of origin is meant the place where the researcher was residing or carrying out his/her main activity when taking up recruitment at the start of his/her initial training activities unless (s)he has resided or carried out his/her main activity for less than 12 months in this location immediately prior to this date. In the latter case, the location of origin is the capital city of the country of his/her nationality. In case of a researcher holding more than one nationality, the location of origin is the capital city of the country where the researcher was residing for the longest period during the last 5 years prior to his/her recruitment. For researchers eligible to receive travel allowances, the allowance is based on the direct distance (in a straight line) between the place of origin and the host institution of the researcher, calculated on the basis of one payment for every period of 12 months or less, when the first period or the last one is less than 12 months. Only one travel allowance shall be paid per period of 12 months, independently of possible interruptions or stays with different partners.
