Creating cast members Using tool palette window that can be selected from window menu. The following objects can be created: Push buttons, Radio buttons, Check boxes, Field, Rectangle, Rounded Rectangle, Circles, and Ellipse.

Creating cast members Importing objects (files) created by other software. Scripts controlling movie or any of its objects from script window Palettes, fonts, and transitions

Cast organization Internal stores the cast within the movie file. This option makes the cast available only to the current movie. External stores the cast in a separate file outside the movie file. This option makes the cast available for sharing with other movies.

Organizing cast members within the Cast window Sort With the Cast window active, select the cast members to sort or select Edit > Select All. In the Sort Cast Members dialog box, select one of the following sorting methods: Media Type Size Name Copy/ paste Delete Name cast member Moving

Viewing and loading cast members The Cast window lets you view your cast members as a list or as thumbnails, depending on your preference. You can control number of cast members in row from the edit menu select preferences then select score When to be loaded When needed Before frame one After frame one

Paint Window 2 of 3 Provides common paint tools. Tool for creating and editing very simple cast members. The imported cast members can be modified here. Use Effects Toolbar and Ink Selector Menu to modify and create many interesting effects on the images.

Paint Window 3 of 3 Choose Window > Paint or click the Paint window button on the toolbar. Click and hold the mouse button on the foreground gradient color chip. The Color Picker will appear, choose light green color. Click the destination gradient color chip and choose a brighter color than the foreground gradient color. Click the Filled Rectangle Tool. Click the Ink Selector and choose Gradient. Click the Gradient Colors Tool and select Sun Burst. With the Filled Rectangle Tool still selected, click and drag a rectangle that is about 1 inch wide and 6 inches deep. Name the cast member “green bar” in the text box.

Text Window 3 of 3 Three ways of creating text Using Text window like when you create text in a word processing application. Using Field window, which requires smaller memory than Text window. Convert the text to a bitmap.

Importing Cast Members 1 of 2 Director lets the user easily import many types of graphics and images to use in his/her movies. Choose File > Import or right click in the first cast empty cast member in choose import. A dialog box opens as in the next slide.

Importing Cast Members 2 of 2 Determine the file name, location (folder), and type. Then click import. You may import more than one file. You can arrange them in the order you want.

Image Format It can be modified after importing, if you use Bitmap Image option. The higher the color depths value, the greater the number of colors that can be displayed and the more storage space and memory are required. Be careful to choose the option that suite your work and computer.

Bringing Cast Members to The Stage By clicking and dragging selected item directly to the Stage. By clicking and dragging selected item into a frame of sprite channel.
