ESR Reporting Solution ESR 2 Requirements state: Deploy the most up to date, future proofed, performant reporting solution possible – providing the most effective use of data for business intelligence – across all reporting instances.

Key features of the ESR Business Intelligence (ESRBI) Reporting Project A specifically written, comprehensive database schema on which ESR BI reports are based Local ‘power users’ will be able to create their own local dashboards and Analyses KPI and dashboard access for both core users and Manager Self Service users NHS dashboards available for key indicators such as absence – with the ability to drill through data Separate and specifically commissioned hardware solution; The Data is transferred from ESR Production each night to a separate, self-contained Business Intelligence reporting solution. BI reporting will be based on the ESR data at the point of last refresh Core processes, standard Discover reports and Disco adhoc reports remain on Production

ESR BI National Dashboards Developed & supported by the Central NHS ESR Development Team Requirements defined by Chairs of the ESR National Special Interest Groups and Workforce Information specialists Pre-deployment sessions, with NSIG Chairs, for proposed national dashboards undertaken Post implementation review sessions planned ‘Agile’ development and enhancement of the national dashboards by the NHS ESR Development Team Local dashboard development will be enabled for ESR BI Administrators Initial data ‘schema’ released on 2 April 2013 with further ‘drops’ through May and June

Implementation Phases Phased approach to implementation: –National Dashboards were made available to all identified User Responsibilities from 2 April 2013 (ie. HR Staff, HR Execs, Manager Self Service Users) –38 organisations were enabled for ‘go live’ with ESR BI Administration on 2 April 2013 following their formal education during March 2013 –Remaining organisations will be phased in for use as ESR BI Administrators following their attendance on formal education during April to June 2013 –Each education ‘cohort’ are offered a weekly Webex ‘clinic’ with the ESR NHS Development Team for up to four weeks following their education and ‘go live’ User support and guidance documents published on the ESR Knowledge Base https://www.electronicstaffrecord.nhs.uk/kbase/login/index_enter/ https://www.electronicstaffrecord.nhs.uk/kbase/login/index_enter/
