RPO: Without Raising Your Debt Ceiling Presented By: Doug Douglas – National Engagement Manager with Stark

RPO Enlighten Me RPO actually began in the 1970’s in Silicon Valley HRO came on the scene in 1980’s and 1990’s (taxes, benefits, payroll) Early 2000’s, RPO received it’s label and began to boom RPO is when a company will outsource all, or part, of their recruitment needs to another company who specializes in locating, qualifying, and delivering candidates for the hiring company to consider. RPO packages can vary from one engagement to another. Each should be customized to the customer’s unique recruiting needs. RPO: Recruitment Process Outsourcing

RPO Enlighten Me Consider these significant recruiting costs: Job postings (Monster, Dice, CareerBuilder, Linked In, etc.) Recruiter costs (internal recruiters or external recruiters or BOTH) Lost productivity costs (production goes down when not fully staffed) Training costs (reduced production again for someone to train) Pre-hire screening costs (background checks, drug tests, MVR, etc.) Hiring Manager interview time (reduced productivity with time to interview) Trainee doing a role compared to a veteran (reduced productivity and mistakes) Increased potential for overtime pay while someone else fills in Potential lost sales (due to being understaffed) Unemployment benefits Lowered employee morale Your brand takes a hit in the marketplace RPO, on average, saves companies 50% when compared to contingency search fees.

RPO Seven Steps to Success Reduced attrition levels Success 7 Success 1 Success 2 Success 3 Success 4 Success 5 Success 6 Reduced cost per hire Reduced time to fill EEO compliance standards met Increased quality of hires 90% of companies surveyed say this is critically important, but only 40% measure it Standardized recruitment process established Accurate metrics established Seven typical areas of success in a good RPO engagement.

RPO Improves Your Brand Candidate Applies Candidate Experience Candidate Tells Others Like it or not, the experience that candidates have when they apply to a position within your company will impact your brand either positively or negatively. Every candidate deserves to be treated equally Every candidate deserves to be treated lawfully Every candidate deserves a decision (good or bad) Those should be the most basic of responses. An RPO provider can be held accountable to cover these, and other additional forms of communication that enhance your overall brand. Nick Burkholder, founder of Staffing.org says, "The single greatest improvement opportunity area for organizations is candidate communications.”
6
Selecting a RPO Provider RPO Provider: Who Fits Me? Track record of Success? Customized solutions for my needs? Who will I interact with? There is no doubt that you have MANY options to choose from when it comes to RPO providers. Here are some things that I would suggest you look for when deciding who will serve your company? Your best choice could very well not be the largest firm, the one with the best branding, or the one with the most followers on Linked In or Facebook.

RPO Risks Pre- Existing Issues Entering into a RPO engagement is a big decision, and one that carries risks with it. With some careful planning though, you should be able to minimize the risks.
