2 GIS at Maryland State Highway Administration Data Services Engineering Division manages SHA’s enterprise GIS (eGIS) Program DSED works with offices across the organization to improve their business processes with GIS solutions SHA’s eGIS Portal application has over 2,000 users SHA wants to leverage mapping applications to communicate key messages to the public

7 Public eGIS Contents Bay Restoration Viewer Presents the public with locations of best management practices that SHA is putting into place to improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay Maryland Bridges in Black & White Gives the public access to photographs of bridges that were taken in the 1920s through the 1940s by the Hughes Photography Company, many of which have cultural significance AADT Locator Provides quick and easy access to traffic volume data on road segments across the state; this information is of interest to business and homeowners
