How many “Vegetables and Fruit” servings should you eat daily?

Depending on your age, the answer is….

A Food Guide vegetable or fruit serving is: 125 ml (½ cup) of fresh, frozen or canned vegetables or fruits or 100% fruit juice; 250 ml (1 cup) of cooked or raw leafy vegetables; 1 fruit.

To increase your vitamin and fibre intake: Eat vegetables and fruit instead of drinking juice; Eat at least one dark green vegetable and one orange vegetable daily.

Examples: Dark green vegetables: Asparagus, broccoli, romaine lettuce, green beans, spinach Orange vegetables: Carrots, squash, sweet potatoes

Some orange fruit can replace orange vegetables. Examples: Peach Nectarine Apricot Cantaloupe Mango Papaya

Live a colourful life. Eat vegetables and fruit!
