Think- Pair -Share Find someone with the same hair color as you. Compare with your partner what you wrote for the question “What is a service?” If you had the same/similar definition give each other a high five! (if not that okay! Work together to come up with a good definition)
15
Think-Pair- Share Have a seat next to your new partner. Volunteer to answer for the class what you and your partner had written as a service.

Rising Service Employment Color your t-shirt a bright color and note that this is the service sector is where the most growth is occurring in the US and worldwide Within the business services most growth is occurring in the professional services. Circle/star/make this stand out and note that growth is occurring here. Within consumer services most growth is occurring in health (aging population?), education, and leisure. Make these stand out!
31
Apply it! Next you will apply the different service jobs in the production process of a t-shirt within a developed country, the state of Aphug. Aphug currently produces socks that they trade internationally. The sectors of the economy in Aphug looks like this: Agriculture: 1.2%, Industry: 26.6%, Service: 72.2%
32
Here’s how to do it: 1. Design a t-shirt related to AP Human Geography 2. You are starting a new company for t-shirts in the state Aphug. The government doesn’t believe your company will benefit the economy, which is mostly service based and it is your job to type a report demonstrating how the production process would include all of the service sectors (consumer, business, and public) and specific types within each sector (retail, education, health, leisure, professional, financial, transportation, and security). 3. Get creative! It is possible to include all!
