PROJECT HYDROCARE SLOVAK HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL INSTITUTE (Partner No.9) 13 - 14. February 2006, Potsdam, Germany
2
SHMI SHMI is a governmental organization directed by the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic. The dominant mission: -Monitoring quantity and quality, the state of the air and waters, -Collection, validation, assessment, archiving and interpretation of data,
3
SHMI -Providing data and information on the state - air and water regime, -Study and description of the atmosphere and hydrosphere phenomena, -Preparation of weather forecasts and warnings about dangerous meteorological phenomena, -Forecast and warnings for surface water courses - a hydrological forecasting services.
4
Project Hydrocare - WP 3.3. -Analysis of hydrological and meteorological data, which be used as inputs for hydrological models. -Assessment of presently used flood forecasting methods by SHMI for application of the standardized hydrometeorological data collection and exchange in the Cadses Region. Project Hydrocare - WP 3.4.
5
-Assessment of a collaboration system on the transboundary waters management (Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Russian Federation). Project Hydrocare - WP 4.5.
6
Slovakia - Bratislava region Bratislava district (2053 km 2 )
7
WP 3.3 -collection and preparation of meteorological and hydrological data for analysis and modelling -collection, preparation and transformation of GIS layers

WP 3.4 Base for WP 3.4 - Flood Monitoring System Development of the Flood Information Service in the Danube River Basin Development of the Flood Forecasting Service
9
Description of the meteorological monitoring network State monitoring system -network of meteorological stations (24 synoptic, 10 additional synoptic stations), -network of climatologic stations (a daily report from 59 stations sending to the centre), -network of rain gauge stations (voluntary precipitation network with 568 stations); 76 stations represent automatic precipitation network with year-round measurements, -network of meteorological radar (at present 2 radars).
