Cell phones and/or Ipods that are brought to school shall remain powered off during the day in their backpack. Electronics are not allowed out at anytime throughout the day, however, if your child uses an electronic reader they only need to ask and we will review rules with them. If you need to contact your child, please call the office or email us.

U. S. History Geography Economics Core Values and Principals of Democracy and Civics (Core Democratic Values)

Text book: History Alive - America's Past program. We will focus on the history of the United States, as well as looking at geography, economics and civics. History includes Native Americans, European Exploration, Colonial America, Slavery, and the Revolutionary War.

We will also study the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the branches of government (and powers). Economic concepts include scarcity, consumption, production, opportunity cost, and interdependence. In social studies, we work out of our notebooks daily. They are vital to your child's success. We cut, glue, write, diagram, in our notebooks.

Homework will be assigned as needed to reinforce the 5th grade curriculum. All assigned homework is due the next day unless noted in the SAB. Assignments over 1 day late are not accepted. Unfinished daily assignments will be sent home to be completed and returned the next day Absent homework is due within a reasonable amount of time Please arrange a quiet place and time to complete work
