DWP09-AI-5 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: DWP DUE: 15-Jul-10 Action: To present an assessment on the effect of the PEACE detector aging on the quality of the COR data and include it to the CR. (see PR09- ALL01, PR09-ALL04, PR09-ALL06) Response: No progress

DWP09-AI-7 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: DWP DUE: 15-Jul-10 Action: To perform the inter-spacecraft comparison of the COR observations between the four spacecraft. (see PR09-ALL04, PR09-ALL06). Response: No progress

DWP09-AI-9 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: DWP DUE: 15-Jul-10 Action: To evaluate if one could produce an error estimate for ACF and to evaluate/clarify the background level (it is normally flat but one may observe a slope if there is a gradient in the energy spectrum). (see PR09-ALL04, PR09-ALL05, PR09-ALL06) Response: No progress

DWP09-AI-10 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: DWP/CAA DUE: 15-Jul-10 Action: To perform a comparison study between DWP and PEACE count rates and present them via cross-cal plots. (see PR09-ALL09) Response: No progress

DWP09-AI-15 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: DWP DUE: CC 11 Action: To check/improve the UG so that the user knows what PEACE sensitivity issues may affect the results of COR, if any, (details are given in the CR based on the PEACE-DWP comparison) and what the users should pay attention in the dataset, e.g. MCP level, but so what, what should I do with MCP level? (see PR09-DWP10) Response: No progress

DWP09-AI-17 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: DWP DUE: 15-May-10 Action: To provide new TCOR files that include the complete time coverage. If they are annual files, they can start from 1 Jan 00:00:00 up to 31 Dec 23:59:59 Response: No progress

DWP09-AI-19 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: DWP DUE: 15-May-10 Action: To check the status of the data files (TCOR and COR in particular) during the commissioning phase (Dec 2000 – Jan 2001) and to see if they could be delivered to the CAA (see also OR5-R16) Response: The DWP team is looking into this. January 2001 are currently being processed. Once these are validated work on December 2000 will begin.

DWP09-AI-25 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: DWP DUE: 15-May-10 Action: To consider to include the pitch angle information to the COR (mainly in BM) dataset in order to allow users to filter ACFs for a given pitch angle range. Ideally FGM 5VPS dataset is used. At the same time the estimated count rate could be included in the same dataset. (CC10-AI-10) Response: The minimum/maximum pitchangles in a given period during which ACFs are calculated will be added to the COR_FX/ST datasets. An estimate of the count rate from the ACFs will also be added. A test data file is currently being validated.

DWP09-AI-25 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France In BM there are 4, 8, or 16 ACF’s per spin i.e. time periods of 1, 0.5, or 0.25 seconds. Pitchangles calculated using HEEA polar look angle - COR_FX/ST data files, Changes each spin local magnetic field direction - CAA FGM 5VPS data product, Maybe 1 FGM point GSE spin axis direction (rotation GSE to SR2) - CSDS AUX files Values of pitchangle calculated Correlator time tag Beginning and end of period over which ACF is accumulated For each time tag in FGM 5VPS Take minimum and maximum in each period

CC11-AI-2 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: All DUE: Action: The teams are reminded that the ICD and UG in particular must be updated by 12 May 2010 and be submitted together with other review documentation Response: Documentation was submitted in preparation for OR5

CC11-AI-3 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: All DUE: Action: the teams are encouraged to make a poster presentation of their CAA datasets with focus on the usability and quality of the datasets. The CAA will have a help desk to the users Response: A poster was submitted and presented at the Cluster 10 th anniversary workshop in Corfu.

CC11-AI-6 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: EFW/DWP DUE: 15-Jun-2010 Action: to provide the EFW mode information, knowledge of EFW Y/Z density vs voltage mode is in particular needed. Response: EFW mode information is NOT available within the DWP_LOG dataset. It is, however, available from the WEC HK files on the RDM. Within a block of housekeeping data (192 bytes), the information is located at word 157 using masks of 0x01 (probe 1), 0x02 (probe 2), 0x04 (probe 3), and 0x08 (probe 4). A value of zero indicates the probe operating in EFIELD mode, one indicates DENSITY mode. NOTE: The value of these parameters represents the state of the probes at the time of the reset pulse. It does not define the exact moment when the mode was switched.

OR5-R13 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: CAA/All DUE: Action: Users with specific interests may wish to access only a portion on the information available in user guides. The board recommends that both the CAA and instrument teams consider developing user guides with a fast browsing capability. Response:

OR5-R14 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: CAA/All DUE: Action: Given the wealth of datasets available from each instrument, it can be difficult for new users to identify the dataset(s) needed for their studies. The board recommends that each user guide include a short section pointing users to the appropriate data sets as a function of region of space and time. This information may take the form of flow charts or decision trees (e.g. http://themis.ssl.berkeley.edu/flow\_diagram.shtml). All UGs should include table of contents, with identical chapter headings as specified by the CAA. Response: Since all DWP quantities are unique and do not depend upon region users should have no problem in identifying which dataset can provide the information that they seek.

OR5-R15 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: All DUE: Action: All teams should bear in their mind that the CAA may be closed by November 2011 if the SPC does not extend the Cluster mission. Consequently, all key data production activities must be completed by summer 2011 to allow time for data ingestion and possible trouble shooting. The board has noticed inconsistencies between this requirement and some of the proposed delivery schedules, particularly in the case of teams that are already behind schedule. The board reminds instrument teams that all 2009 data should be ingested by September 2010. Response: The DWP team is aware of this situation and will aim to have all DWP datasets for 2009 ingested by September 2010

OR5-R16 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: All DUE: Action: The board notes that the CAA lacks observations from the commissioning phase and recommends delivery of observations particularly from January 2001 (which have already been used for many publications). and December 2000 (when there are interesting interference campaigns). (see also DWP09-AI-19). Response: The DWP team is looking into this. January 2001 are currently being processed. Once these are validated work on December 2000 will begin.

OR5-R19 12th CrossCal Workshop, Toulouse, France TO: DWP DUE: Action: The users guide provides temperature variables in deg C, but states that SI_CONVERSION = "1>C". "C" stands for Coulomb, so this text should be replaced by "1>(Celsius)". Degree Celsius is not an SI unit nor convertible to one multiplicatively. Response: The metadata contained in the DWP_LOG header file has been corrected such that the UNIT entry is now "deg C" and the SI_CONVERSION has the value "1>(Celsius)". The ICD has also been updated accordingly with this change to the description of the temperature fields.
