1. My epic journey By wiremu cleave 2015

2. On day1 we went to Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Nga Maungarongo. When we got there we got our groceries then we prepared the dinner and we also set up the mattresses. When the school got here we had a powhiri and we had dinner. After dinner we played spotlight. Then Whaea Adrianne and Mum took us to K-mart to get shoes for Pudding, Tai and I. When we got back every body had gone to sleep so I did too. I had a great day and can’t wait till tomorrow. Maungarongo

3. The sweaty walk On day 2 we caught a ferry out to Rangitoto. When we got there we walked up to the summit. There were heaps of wasps at the summit. The crater was 60 meters deep. At the Lava caves there was 1 cave that went into the mountain and opened up into a big space then ended up in another cave. The walk was 2 hours there and back. I had a great day.

4. weeding Today we went weeding at shakespear park. First we had breakfast then matua peter came in and told us how pests got here and how bad they are. After that a man called Jason took us for a walk and we weeded around some trees while we were up there we saw some bikers that were also staying in the campground. After that matua Jason took us along the ridge to a lookout. when we were walking down to the camping ground there was a steep hill so I ran down it. When we got there we had lunch and had a swim. I had a great day.

5. The relaxing swim Today we are going to Waiwera. First we woke up, packed up our tents and then had breakfast. After breakfast we headed off to the pools. We stopped at the Warehouse. When we got there we got told the rules by Liam. It was dumb that the yellow or the black slide weren't open but the green slide was. There was also a lava pool that was 48 degrees Celsius and when Nova jumped in it she screamed. I had a great time relaxing my muscles.

6. LOOKING FOR BIRDS After Waiwera we went to Tawharanui marine reserve. After setting up our tents a man called Colin told us the pests that they have. After he finished his speech we went looking for some Takahe and in this photo you can see that we saw some. When dusk fell we went looking for the kiwi but this time we didn’t hear any thing or see anything. When we got back I went to sleep. I HAD A GREAT DAY.

7. THE AMAZING FISH Today we went to Goat Island. When we go there we got split in to groups to go on the glass bottom boat. The first place we went to was the snapper spot. When we got right out behind the island it was rough. We went right around the island and I saw a blue cod and lots of big snapper. When we got back we went snorkelling. I didn't stay in for long because my fin broke but I got to touch a snapper. There were big waves crashing onto the beach so I body boarded them. I loved seeing the fishes and I hope that I can go back.

8. Omaha Marae FACTS: 1.The first Marae there burnt down. 2.The tukutuku that is shaped like diamonds are the patiki. The tukutuku that is shaped like stair are the poutama stairways to heaven and the tukutuku that had stars woven were the purapurawhetu. 3.The name of the wharenui was Te Kiri. 4. The name of the wharekai was Hine Hauturu. 5. All the ashes that were from the first whare were stowed behind the new one.

9. Listening for birds When we got to Tiritiri Matangi a lady at the bottom told us where the stops are and toilets and as well the history. Our tour guide was called Jan. The birds that I saw were a saddleback, tui, kakariki, takahe, kereru and a bellbird. It is dumb that I didn’t get to see a kokako but if I go back I’ll see one or more. They only had the brown spotted kiwi. The pests were eradicated from Tiritiri around 1965. I had a great time seeing the birds.

10. STARDOME On Saturday the 7 th we went to the stardome. As soon as we got there we went up to the top of One Tree Hill where there is a big tower. When we went back to the bottom of the hill we played on the par.k When we got into the house thing there was a big theatre in the shape of a dome. I sat by Eli. The movie that we watched was the wildest weather of the solar system. After the movie a man showed us this really big telescope and it was called Zeiss. I had a great day and I hope I can go back soon.
