Climate Change Climate Warms – Large mammals die off or are killed – Land bridge disappears – The environment becomes diverse – The Paleo-Indians adapt depending on climate – Population grows

Diverse Cultures Emerge Beginning of Agriculture Cultures begin to emerge and separate – Varying languages (at least 375), beliefs, and other ways of living develop Separation leads to increased misunderstandings and conflict.

Different Cultures Southwest Indians – Arid land- irrigation, adobe houses, drought Mississippi River Valley – Humid climate- farming, large settlements Great Plains – Dry climate- hunters, tepees, clashes with nomads Eastern Woodlands – Iroquois and Algonquians- farmers, longhouses, and wigwams Coastal Tribes – Fishing, berries, and small game

Describe these groups (where they lived, how they lived, etc.) What events happened to them? When finished write your answers on the whiteboard!
