Products of Islamic Culture ▪ Righteous Human ▪ Righteous Family ▪ Righteous Society ▪ Righteous Humanity ▪ Righteous Economy
3
Righteous Human The first aim of Islam is to establish the righteous human. A person who is capable of being Allah’s overseer on earth. Man whom Allah has given the highest honor, by forming man in the nicest form, and bestowed all that is in the heavens and the earth for him. Belief and Faith A Muslim is a man of belief and faith, someone who is clear about himself and the world around him. He is one who believes that there is a lord who created him, refined him, guided him, taught him reason, gave him mind and choice of action, sent him prophets and delivered the book for him. Rites and Worship A Muslim is a man of rites and worship, for he knows that the world around him was created for him, and that he was created to worship Allah alone, and that he is aware of his purpose of life, and the secret of his existence. “I have not created Jinn and Mankind except that they worship Me (Allah) I do not require them to provide for themselves, nor do I need them to feed me. Indeed GOD is the Provider, the Lord of Power, the Strong” (56-58)

Character and Virtue Noble Prophet speaks to us about faith as a character and virtuous deeds, as it is in his words. “He who believes in Allah and the Last Days must strengthen his family bonds, must not harm his neighbor, speak well of others or keep silent.” A Muslim in his heart, is a man of faith and belief, a man of rites and devotion, he is also a man of character and virtues, in whom purity proclaims itself in every sense of the word, and he is an embodiment of the virtues of justice, mercy, and good influence, and one who follows the footsteps of the prophet “O you who believe! Be constant for GOD as just witnesses, and do not let detestation of a people move you to be unfair, be equitable, that is closer to piety, and fear GOD, GOD is well aware of all that you do”
5
Law & Aim A Muslim is bounded by divine guidance, by a strict system of law, imposed upon him by his Lord, allowing the lawful and forbidding the intolerable. Law & Aim He obeys all that Allah has made lawful for him, and so he is not let loose doing what he wishes; he is indeed limited to certain action. Example: Muslims can only eat halal food, he must not eat offal, blood, pork, he must eat only what is lawfully slaughtered.
6
A Muslim does not stop with improving his lot, but goes on struggling in the interest of others, calling them to what Allah has guided him. A Muslim by nature is a propagator, because he realizes that his message is for the whole world, for all times and for the whole of life, so he strives towards spreading of light A Muslim is a man of work and production of living, he gives to life just as he takes from it. Man is asked to build the earth; which in sense is an obligation and yet it does not deny the acts of worship. Allah has made the earth for man, as a place to rest and comfort, a place to build a house and enjoyment till the end of time. Propagation and Struggle Building and Productivity

Righteous Family I slam aims at nurturing the Righteous Family which is the necessary nucleus of the foundation of a good society. Islam Recommends Marriage: The Prophet (PBUH) urged the youth to marry, he said “O generation of youth, those of you who can afforded it should marry, for it veils the sight and better fortifies privacy” Aims of Marriage: It is the rule of Allah that in this universe that no one can perform his duty alone. By marriage occurs birth, by which the existence of man is extended. “God has given you wives of your own kind, and has given you wives, sons and grandsons, and made provision of good thing for you. It is then you believe in vanities, and are ungrateful for GOD’s blessings” (Al-Nahl:72) Marriage remove complements the religion of a Muslim man, by it he veils his sight, and his soul is fortified, and he finds himself competing for the lawful and will not think of unlawful

Congregation upon Faith: The Islamic community is not a national or regional community, rather it is an assembly of faith. It is a community of idea and faith in Islam. Respect for Good Deeds: whether it is in the religious order like prayer, fasting or worldly life, earning a living, farming, and by all that is useful to man, and is good to him. The Call to Good: a Muslim should be self-righteous, in the true sense, is he who achieves righteousness and tries to make other righteous, even if it were by calling to good and forbidding bad. Struggle in the Cause of Allah: struggle in defense or right, and strengthening good deeds, prevention of corruption, and safety of the weak. Which is the basic principle of Islam. Virtue of Character: is confirmed in every aspect of life, and their propagation and protection. Beginning from justice, goodness, family respect, respect for authority, trust and fulfilment of promise, sincerity in secret and in open, telling the truth in anger and in happiness.
10
Brotherhood: Brotherhood and fraternity are the permanent features of the Muslim society, by the impression of firm faith which runs through its members. Self-sufficiency and Solidarity: whereby the strong helps the weak to stand, and the rich support the poor, so that neither weak nor unable suffers in such a society. Sympathy and Kindness: Mutual sympathy and kindness, and this is the fruit of true brotherhood. The Muslims are as one body, when one organ complains, the rest of the organs suffer with it. Mutual Trust and Advice: every Muslim is responsible for and those around him in society. He advises them and they advise him, and he recommends them in truth they recommend him in truth. There is no one among Muslims who is above taking advice. “The Believers are brothers” (Al-Hujurat: 10). The Prophet (PBUH) “None of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself”
11
Righteous Humanity ▪ It must not be understood by the Call of Islam for the establishment of a distinguished nation, with its aims and objectives; of a distinguished mission, with its tenets, its precepts and characteristics that Islam is a restricted religion locked upon itself or a nation living onto itself, resting on its own laurels, without caring about other people, whether they are doing good or evil, whether they are guided or go astray, whether they develop or collapse. ▪ Allah described the nation of Islam in His Book when He addressed it as: "You are the best nation to have been raised up for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and you believe in God"(Al- Imran: 110).
12
▪ Liberating Man From the Worship of Man The first of these principles is that Islam is calling to total monotheism in all shapes and standards: it has liberated man from worshipping his fellow just as it has liberated him from the worship of objects. ▪ Brotherhood and Equality of the fruits of monotheism, to which Islam calls, is the Brotherhood of mankind and this makes equality a necessity. And this brotherhood is founded upon two things: First: That all men are servants to one Lord; He is the One who created and shaped them; and so they are equal on the basis of worship to Allah. Second: They are all children of one father and so, however, the difference in color, characteristics and countries, their tongues and classes, so they are equal by birth in rights.
13
▪ Justice for All : what Islam calls for in view of the benefit of mankind is justice for all. It is not just for the Arabs, but for all mankind. Allah has commanded the believers to be just and bear witness for Allah's sake, notwithstanding love for their near relatives, nor hatred of outsiders (non relatives); for justice is above the emotions of love and hatred. Muslims should stand for the sake of Allah ▪ World Peace Among the objects of Islam is peace among mankind, instead of war and struggles. This might surprise those who, wrongly, think that Islam is a religion of violence and that it has been spread by the sword.
14
Righteous Economy ▪ Islamic economy is integrated as part of Islamic Faith. We cannot separate the commercial and economic transactions as well as general framework of Islamic Shari’ah. A Muslim in his dealings with others knows that Allah is watching and fears Allah in his dealings.
15
Islamic Economy can be stated as follows: Integrity: is an aspect of piety, it is where an individual should perform his duty in the best manner he can, and take in account the rights of the people that are placed as a trust between his hands. The Prophet (PBUH) said “Anyone we appoint in a job for which he takes a salary or wage, anything he takes more than his salary or wage is considered ill-gotten money,” Faithfulness: Fulfilling one’s own promise is a basis for his dignity in the world and his happiness in the hereafter. Islamic economy is bad on respecting contracts in which financial due rights are recorded, and it is required that they must be in accordance with Islamic Shari’ah. Allah mentions in the Quran “O you who believe! Fulfill (your) obligations” (Al Ma’idah:1) “And fulfill (every) covenant. Verily, the covenant, will be questioned about.”(Al Isra:34) 1. Faith and Piety
16
▪ 2. Global Righteousness: Islamic economy is based on spending and giving, therefore Muslims are known to be generous and haste to charity and righteousness. Allah says in the Holy Quran. “And they ask you what they ought to spend. Say “That which is beyond your needs.””(2:219) “They ask you (O Muhammad (PBUH)) what they should spend. Say whatever wealth you spend, it is for the parents and the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer.” (2:215) The concept of Righteous in Islamic Economy includes every good character.
17
▪ 3. Moderation: Islamic Economy organize the social, psychological affairs of people. Creates a balance in everything. “But seek, with that (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on you, the home of the hereafter, and forget not you portion of this world.” (28:77) The priorities of Islamic economy are based on the concept that a Muslim should not be a slave to his desires. Therefore, the Quran mentioned the forbiddance of wasting. “But spend not wastefully (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift, verily the spendthrifts are brothers of the shaytan, and shaytan is ever ungrateful to his lord.”(17:26-27) Economic aspect, stinginess leads to lack of peoples tendency to consumption, where luxury and extravagance lead to waste of resources, therefore the call for moderation has shown up to a point out of positive effects of moderation on individual as well as society.
