5. DAY 1 WELCOME TO BILBAO! Today is the first day of your experience in the Basque Country. Welcome! - Welcome by the Go Basquing team and transfer by private coach. - After checking into the hotel, enjoy a welcome drink before dinner. - Dinner: enjoy a welcome dinner in a charming restaurant in the center of Bilbao. 7. DAY 2 FROM BILBAO TO GETXO ENJOYING ITS TIDAL RIVER The history of Bilbao is closely linked to the history of its tidal river. Come and discover it on a visit that will take you to Getxo. - Meet your guide in your hotel. -Guided visit of the Maritime Museum, where the history of Bilbao and a surprising video on the evolution of the city is waiting for you. -Boarding a narrated river cruise along the Nervión, the tidal river of Bilbao, to the estuary in Getxo. DAY 3 BILBAO - SAN SEBASTIAN THE PEARL OF THE BAY OF BISCAY Today you are going to discover San Sebastian, a beautiful city with a French air to it, a traditional place for the meeting of the aristocracy and currently a must for film lovers. - Meet your guide in the hotel. - Private visit of the Guggenheim Museum, designed by the architect Frank Gehry and a symbol of the new Bilbao. - Transfer by private coach to San Sebastián. - Lunch: traditional lunch in a sidrería (cider house) where you will share a table in a special place for the Basques. - Visit on foot with your guide who will tell you about the history of the city walking around its most emblematic streets. - Return to Bilbao by private coach. - Dinner: free. Txoko gives its name to the local headquarters of gastronomic societies in the Basque Country and Navarre. These societies are composed of members who often belong to the same group of friends, and are used for lunch and dinner, either between members of the society or between members and their guests. With this activity Go Basquing offers you a unique experience to be welcomed with open arms by some of the members of the txoko who will share with you the history of these singular places first hand. The locals will be really proud to make you feel at home. After this warm welcoming, you will, of course, savour a tasty traditional menu cooked by one of the members.
