Coronus and Rhea Both were Titans, parents of Zeus and the rest of the gods. Coronus was given a prophecy Rhea hid Zeus Coronus got sick

Zeus Self proclaimed “King of the Gods” God of the Sky Symbols are: lightning bolt, eagle, and justice. Zeus had a lot of affairs

Poseidon God of the sea Symbols were the trident, horse, and giant waves. Had just as many affairs as Zeus Competition with Athena

Hades God of the Underworld God of wealth Symbols: the helm of darkness, and any precious gem Very bad tempered Persephone

Hera Wife of Zeus Goddess of marriage and childbirth Symbols were the peacock and cow Was very jealous of Zeus’ mistresses and often punished them

Ares God of War, son of Zeus Had an awful temper He lived off of the worst part of battle, the bloody and violent He was so bad some of the other gods couldn’t stand him

Athena Daughter of Zeus Goddess of wisdom, and battle planning Popped out of Zeus’ forehead Competition with Poseidon for the city of Athens

Apollo God of the Sun, Zeus’ son He was most loved on Olympus It was said his priestesses could see into the future He was also the god of music, healing, and archery

Aphrodite The goddess of love Was born from the sea foam Mother to Cupid/Eros Mother and son enjoyed hitting one person with their “love arrow” but not the other

Hermes God of motion, travelers, and dreams Symbols: Caduceus, and winged shoes He was also the messenger to the gods Son of Zeus

Hephaestus Smith to the gods, he built anything the gods would need Husband to Aphrodite When he was born Hera was displeased with him and threw him off Mount Olympus

Dionysus God of wine, and good parties Either seen as a large, jolly man with a beard, or a fun-loving youth Symbols are the wine cup, and grapes
