2. Poseidon *God of the Sea *Used his trident when angry to make storms and earthquakes.

3. Hades *God of the Underworld *Preferred his gloomy palace to Mt. Olympus *Had a 3 headed dog, Cerberus, that guarded the gates of Hades

4. Hera *Queen of the gods *Zeus’ wife and sister *Jealous over Zeus’ affairs

5. Demeter *Goddess of the Harvest *Her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped by Hades – her grief causes the Seasons

6. Hestia *Goddess of the hearth (fireplace) *Every hearth on Earth is her altar *Gave up throne on Olympus to tend to things on Earth

7. Ares *God of War *Tall & handsome, but cruel & vain *Disliked by the other gods and goddesses

8. Hephaestus *Blacksmith of the gods *His wife, Aphrodite, was cruel to him even though he was kind and caring

12. Apollo *God of the Sun (blond hair & radiant) *Shares seat on Mt. Olympus with his twin sister, Artemis. They are opposites.
